Makrana Marbels

Purity and Composition
High Purity: Makrana marble is a calcite stone known for its exceptional purity. It is composed
of 98% to 99.9% calcium carbonate, with minimal impurities.
Mineralogical Composition: The pure white variety, known locally as ``Sang-e-Marmar,`` is
almost entirely made of recrystallized calcite. Other varieties with streaks of grey, pink, or brown
contain minor silicate mineral impurities like biotite or quartz.
Durability and Physical Properties
Strength: The stone's crystalline granoblastic, compact, and interlocking texture makes it less
porous and gives it a high compressive strength. This structure makes it highly durable and
resistant to wear and tear.
Resistance to Water: Makrana marble is highly resistant to water seepage due to its dense,
non-porous nature, which helps it maintain its appearance and prevents staining over time.
Heat Resistance: It is an excellent choice for applications like countertops and fireplace
surrounds due to its high heat-resistant properties.
Aging: Unlike some other marbles that can yellow or change color over time, Makrana marble
is known to retain its pristine white color and even gain more luster as it ages.
